Pros and cons of BC Liquor Stores app for iPhone and iPad

BC Liquor Stores app good for

Love this app. I am learning so much from the wine selection! Thanks!
A great app if you know what you are searching for. Wanted Parallel 49 12 pack, located it at my local LDB. -30-
Great app to find whatever you are looking for in BC, turn location on and it will tell you where it is nearby and how many they have
This app is great to use when looking for a particular product. It shows how many bottles are available at each outlet, saving driving to a location to find they dont have that product in stock. The inventory is updated every day. I also like it for trying out new wines, as I read the consumer ratings to decide which ones I choose. The "my cellar" feature is great to keep track of products that are your favourites and which ones you want to try in the future. You can also easily use the bar code scanner to add a product to your wish list.
Real time stock, location based store finder and hours, custom lists, near daily catalogue updates, and more. I really couldnt ask for a better app, except maybe user reviews (has ratings). I even see staff using it.
High functionality - accurately tells me closest available locations for any wine, plus stock levels. A real time saver.

Some bad moments

Like other reviewers, this app lost all the lists I have put in over the last couple of years. Just empty placeholder pictures where the wine label, ratings and notes used to be. Very, very sloppy programming. Does anyone at BC Liquor Stores care?
This app is stated as being 12mb in size, today April 11th it is 127mb in size on my phone. No other retail store app I have is anywhere close to that size. Every day it wants to download download more, its been as large as 154mb. Please streamline this app so it stores its data on a server not my phone.
Lost my favorites with an update - terrible development team to blame.
This stupid useless app wont load after it updates. Ive deleted it from my phone and I wont put it back on!!!! EVER! Since it wont accept zero stars I gave it 1 default star.
A previous version used to ask if I wanted to update the data when the app was opened. The last couple versions force an update and wont even let you use the app unless you have a data connection. There are times when I have been without data and wanted to look up a wine or save one I am tasting to my favourites. Neither can be done without a connection. The choice to update needs to be brought back. Previously a 5 star app. Now a 2 star due to this limitation.
I guess it was someones Friday and creating an app that, for a passion of so many people was not on their minds! Do yourself a favour and keep on browsing
